Homework 6/17

In my opinion, pollution is a bigger problem because it has a longer effect of the people in that city as opposed to lack of water which can be supplied from other neighboring cities. Pollution can cause years of contamination in the water and the environment of that city and could also possibly spread to other cities as well. 1. No it does not mean that he does not use any water, it simply means he isn’t drinking water directly from the Snake River. Packaged fruit juice is obviously made with water, but not from that specific city, but from the city in which the juice is manufactured. Water is used throughout the whole process of making fruit juice, from the can to the actual juice water is a significant factor. 2. Water is used for the growth of the wheat, to coat the top of the loaf in order to make the crust crispy, and using water to heat whatever may be baking the loaf of bread. It is also used in the plastic to wrap the bread or in the machines used to make package or distribute the bread. 8. The amount of water in the world is constantly changing because of pollution, global warming, over population, and many other significant issues. The amount of the earth’s fresh water is decreasing yearly, and has tremendously changed from 1 million years ago considering the amount of living things that were using the water, and the amount of contamination the water had. 9. Oceans, Glaciers, Water Vapor, and Rivers 10. This would be true in the chase of oceans because there is most of the worlds water, but humans cannot drink it because it is not purified, and it may be contaminated 11. 77% 12. 2.119% of freshwater 13. If a dinosaur were to urinate during that time period, it may have been absorbed into the ground, otherwise known as ground water, and later could have been purified or used for something in human life. 17. 370 L is direct water and 4960 L is both direct and indirect. 1. B the south 2. Water is used in agriculture more in the west for reason being the large amounts of plantations in the west because of the ideal farming weather. The east does not have the same weather or economy as the west, but the west does not have the amount of factories or buildings as the east. Both sides use water for completely different reasons. 3. The east has many big cities, businesses, and factories that require mass amounts of water and power. They also use the water for steam in the factories to create the products that are used across the country.
